Radar Pictures and Ted Field Overview Radar Pictures (“Radar”) is a preeminent independent production company that produces, finances and acquires feature-length motion pictures created for the global marketplace. Radar is headed by Ted Field, a proven and respected icon in the entertainment industry with a 30-year career as a creative and business executive in movies, music and television. He has produced over 60 movies that have generated nearly $7.0 billion in revenue. Mr. Field cofounded Interscope Records, one of the most successful and innovative labels in the music business. During Mr. Field’s management of the label, well over 300 million albums were sold worldwide, sparked by some of the industry’s top-selling artists such as Dr. Dre, Eminem, Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Nine Inch Nails, The Wallflowers, No Doubt, Limp Bizkit and Marilyn Manson. He sold Interscope Records to Universal Music Group for an enterprise value of $500 million. Mr. Field's long history of success as a businessman, investor and entrepreneur predates his creative success in producing hit music and film. He repeatedly demonstrates an ability to substantially increase the value of companies with which he is involved and monetize holdings in a timely fashion. Mr. Field co-owned Field Enterprises, legacy of the iconic Marshall Field department store chain in Chicago. He was actively involved in the management of Field Enterprises diverse operations, which included real estate, the Chicago Sun-Times and several television stations. Mr. Field negotiated the sale of the conglomerate in 1983, for which he personally received $260 million. Mr. Field also successfully executed and integrated numerous strategic transactions outside of his involvement in Field Enterprises, including Panavision, Crown Zellerbach and Goodyear Tires. Mr. Field’s investment objectives significantly exceed the typical alternative asset hurdle rates of 20-30%. For instance, in 1987, Mr. Field sold Panavision within 2 years of his purchase for $140 million on an initial investment of $53 million. Under Mr. Field’s leadership, Radar completed its raise in November 2006 of equity as well as junior and senior debt to capitalize Radar Film Fund I, LLC (the Fund) for investment in production of feature films targeting a broad range of movie genres for a multitude of demographics. Currently, Radar has developed a relationship with Farooq Mahmood Arjomand to expand the company's operations and international presence. Radar Pictures Company History Since being founded by Mr. Field in 1999 Radar has established itself as one of Hollywood’s leading production and co-financing companies. Before the closing of the Fund, Radar implemented an impressive slate of successful movies, including:
Prior to Radar, Mr. Field produced numerous box office smash hits throughout the 1980s and 1990s, such as Runaway Bride, Jumanji, Three Men and a Baby, The Hand that Rocks the Cradle, Outrageous Fortune, Mr. Holland’s Opus, Cocktail, Bird on a Wire, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Revenge of the Nerds.
